Case study · E-Commerce / Korean Skincare
The Glossy Shop
A Pakistani store for Korean skincare in a soft pink identity. The Shopify site teaches as it sells, with concern-based filters, a free skin analysis, benefit cards and detailed ingredient and usage pages.

Project overview
The Glossy Shop sells affordable Korean-formulated skincare to customers in Pakistan, positioned for “all Asian skin types” and described on the homepage as dermatologist recommended and non-comedogenic. The core catalogue is a family of serums (night, morning, anti-pigment, hyaluronic, retinol, vitamin C, 24K gold, hair growth) alongside cream, cleanser, sunscreen and body-care products, most shown at a 30% saving.
Business requirements
Skincare is bought on trust and on fit with a skin concern, so the store needs to teach as it sells. The site does this with a free skin analysis in the main menu, collection filters by skin type and by skin care effect, and product pages that spell out ingredients, how and when to use the product, expected timeframe, warnings and storage. Repeated trust statements (original products, support, secure checkout) reinforce credibility for a brand that is not yet a household name.
Visual direction
The visual identity is soft and feminine: blush-pink hero artwork with a pastel pink and peach palette, a light script-style wordmark, and a warm terracotta for section headings with a hand-drawn underline. Product photography is staged on warm wood and marble, and the benefit cards use bold, brightly coloured infographic artwork (purple for the cleansing mousse, orange for the BB cream) so each product reads as its own mini-campaign. Black Add to Cart buttons keep the actions legible against the pastel background.
Store experience
The homepage runs from hero to a short brand introduction, then a tabbed slider (Serums / Korean Skincare), a row of pink “Buy Now” shortcut tiles, the Suggested Usage grid, and a feature banner for the serum line. Collection pages put a long filter column beside the grid and a descriptive text block (“Serums: Targeted Skincare for Every Concern”) beneath it. Product pages use a large image gallery with a size selector, quantity and Add to Cart on one side and expandable detail sections below, followed by customer reviews and related products.
Responsive experience
On a phone the hero artwork re-crops into a portrait banner (the sale announcement in the capture used here), the menu collapses to a hamburger beside the logo, search and cart, and product tiles reflow into a two-up grid with the same pink and black treatment. Captured at 1440 px and 440 px wide for this case study.
Design highlights
The distinctive choice is the educational layer: ingredient lists, usage steps and benefit infographics are built into the shopping flow rather than hidden on a blog, and the skin-type and effect filters let shoppers browse by concern. Together with the consistently pink, soft palette, it gives a small catalogue a clear point of view.
